Designing a new messenger bag, the major question was, what has to be done, that a flap of a messenger bag always stays straight at any level of packing: Of course it has to be stretched. In order to stretch something it must be pulled – but with flexibility. So we needed an elastic string, a round button with an edge and a connector which fixes two endings. The question then was, how these components can be made or how they can be found: It took a month to find the button, although it is around us everywhere at any time: The jeans button.
The combination of natural leather with an artificial string creates an intense tension so the bag can be worn along with a suit as well as with second hand clothes.
