Chacoral
The characteristics of colombian vaquero leather are its untreated surface, its velvet like touch, its warm colors and its remarkable lightness. I thought a really simple but useful shopping bag would show these characters at their maximum. So the only design we gave to this bag is the front pocket which is placed a bit asymmetric which gives the bag its final tension and thus a face. As well it is also a tribute to nature which is rarely even or symmetric. However, it was evident that the image of the chacoral bag would be mainly determined by the color – which is not just an even color. No – it seems to be more like watercolor showing through its transparency the leather structures below. Being then an “open” leather the bag communicates between user and its environment by creating its own final expression.
